During the first period of the game at Zalgiris Kaunas, Olympiaco's power forward George Printezis scored 14 points in a row, as he had 4/4 3p shots and a lay-up. All his shots were a team effort though, since his teammates read the defense correctly and took the right decision at the right time. Of course his scoring skills is an important element, so this video-analysis shows how his team ball movement utilized them with great results.
- Play 1: Defense packs-in in a play targeting Olympiaco's center Nikola Milutinov, so Printezis has an open 3p shot from the top.
- Play 2: Play for Printezis, who pops out after setting a pick. Defense hedges, so he has an open 3p shot from the wing.
- Play 3: Janis Strelnieks drives after a pick set by Milutinov. Defense contains, but Brandon Davies of Zalgiris doesn't stop Strelnieks drive, forcing Kavaliauskas to help since he is the last man on defense. This rotation leaves Printezis free in the corner, because next defender (guarding Papanikolaou on the wing) didn't rotate.
- Play 4: Printezis sets a step-up pick for Williams-Goss and defense plays "through", so he re-sets a pick to the other side, this time inside 3p line. This forces the defense to become more aggressive, so Kavaliauskas hedges to prevent a possible mid-range pull-up shot. Printezis then dives to the basket and no defender checks on him (bump), scoring an easy lay-up.
- Play 5: Sideline out play with pick n' roll Spain action (pick & back screen on big man's defender). Vassilis Spanoulis drives and Aaron White is forced to overhelp (help from the strong side), leaving Printezis open in the corner.
